At Ithaca, Ben played linebacker for the Bombers football team for two years and spent two years on the coaching staff as a student assistant. Coaching linebackers in 2012 and defensive line in 2013, Ben helped coach the Bombers JV team to a conference championship in 2012. As a varsity assistant defensive coach, Ben was a member of the 2013 Empire 8 Coaching Staff of the Year, helping coach the Bombers to an Empire 8 Conference Championship and the second round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. In the offseason, Ben supervised strength and conditioning sessions.

Ben is also an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Personal Trainer, and worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor at Ithaca College. Ben created an exercise class using only resistance bands to develop explosiveness, total body strength, and condition named “Band-sanity.” Ben also taught a class in TRX training.

In Milwaukee, Ben served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the University School of Milwaukee (his alma mater) summer training program, and organized the speed and agility workouts for athletes of all sports. As a trainer for Team Speed, Ben worked with athletes from middle school up to college age developing speed, agility, explosive power, and conditioning.

As a Master's Student at UW-Milwaukee, Ben is studying Sports Psychology in the Department of Kinesiology. His main focus in the program is investigating athlete burnout. His goals are to earn his Masters degree and become a Certified Consultant with the Association of Applied Sport Psychology. He is also a member of the Milwaukee Panthers Club Football Team.
